I have no tolerance for being hot.  Honestly, this is probably the wrong advice, but I would go buy a cheap one anyway! He’s not there melting with you, and therefore yes, I think he is being ridiculous!

It’s not really safe to keep a baby or a dog in that kind of heat. You might want to try talking to him again or maybe get a few fans?

I agree with PPs; I would totally buy one anyways. He’s not the one sitting at home in the extreme heat and a baby!

@Sunshine1810: lol Totally agree with you. I do not do well when I’m super hot. Especially if I was with a child and a dog! I’d be sitting in a lawn chair with a sprinkler running or I’d go buy a $20 fan and have it on full blast 24/7.

I understand finances are something to consider; but would he do the same thing if he had to wait at least three days in 85+ degree for you to come home before he could get a working AC unit?

I agree on the fan. I have a Lasko tower fan and it really is great!

I’d tell him to bite me and I’d get a cheap new window unit!  He can’t expect you and the dog to burn up while he’s somewhere with air conditioning!  I am assuming he has air wherever he’s staying…  Sorry, but I really don’t understand why he wants you to wait to get it repaired until he gets home.  The heat has been dangerous (that word was used by my meterologist the other day).  It is not just uncomfortable, but very unsafe to be that hot.  I am not sure if by baby you meant another animal, or an actual baby, but if you’re talking about a human baby, it is definitely not safe for him/her to be without air conditioning.

Lots of cold showers and buy a fan or two. The one we got was only $14.
