I have spent so much time on our magnet Save-The-Date Cards, and they look really good (wish I had a picture of them complete). I was at this high end craft store (for scrap books mostly), and found the got th product to use.. you know how there’s the rollable strip glue, whiteout, and highlighters? There is one that u can use and when it dries its magnetic..its barely elevated and its a very light gray color, which happens to be the same color as the back of my card. Its very hard to see…so far no one I have given it to in person, has noticed its a magnet..I have to tell them.
I can only fit a 1inch tall, 3 inch wide label on the back of the card. I’d like to put a short cute saying like
“Use this magnetic save the date to put on your fridge to stay
so it doesn’t accidentally get thrown away.”
or..”We made this magnetic save the date card,
so that you can simply keep it on your fridge, plus it’s not
easy to discard.”…
Can you think of any more ways to work it?? I need to keep it short, because I also need to put something like “Please visit out wedding website …: the website address and the password to the password” and it all has to fit on a 1×3 label.
Please, give me any suggestion(s) you have!!
P.S. Sorry, I do not know the name of the product i used that made the magnetic strip…the store was all out of it and the people at the store were nice enough to give me the one they had opened already, but barely used- luckily it was huge and lasted through 150 cards! All I know is that it had a “” on it.. no name or anything.

I would imagine most people can figure out that it is a magnet without help due to the strip on the back and the fact that it is attached to the card, while cards usually don’t have such things tacked on for no reason. The wedding industry wants people to believe that their guests lose all intelligence when a wedding is being planned and can’t figure out the most basic things they are exposed to. Seems odd though that some people aren’t able to guess that without you mentioning it, but it likely depends on the style and thickness.
While I have never seen a save the date in person, I have seen several magnets online that were attached to a postcard-sized card. The generalized wording for such is “Please stick this magnet on your fridge to remember the date. Hope to see you there!” You can play around with that to see what sounds best to you. Try different font sizes and if you still don’t have room, see if you can’t print directly on the card.

@Selene221: That is what I thought, but the product I used is something I’ve NEVER seen before.. you can barely see the magnet strip i put around the boarder! It is BARELY elevated off the paper..(like how much white out is… if that) if you ran your fingers over it, then you would feel a slight texture difference but that is it. And the color is exactly the same the the back of the card.. I actually think it is clear..so it has a “wet” look. I do not know how it’s a magnet..but just imagine those pen like things that you slide along paper and come as white out, highligher or glue…its wet and slide on that thin, and that big. Its not big at all or like a strip of magnet you are thinking of..i i wish i could post a picture but I lost my battery’s charger to the camera! I’ve given it to 14 people in person.. and they had no idea it had anything on the back until i said.. “see if it stick on your fridge” and they were amazed!
@penguinsaremyfriends: that is great, simple and to the point!!

I called back the craft store i had gotten it from said they had gotten it as a trial from a rep and were planning to order more, they said they would call me back once they ordered more…as the rep was a rep for multiple brands/products.
It is great that it doesn’t add any extra cost for shipping!
thanks for those sayings!! I’m going to use one of those.. or something VERY similar!! THANKS A BUNCH!
