My dentist gave me some free whitestrips samples to try before the wedding. (crest whitestrips supreme professional). She gave me six, and I believe they are supposed to be used twice daily. My mornings are too hectic, so I’ve done them for a half-hour the past two evenings, and I was just going to do six evenings of it, rather than three morning-and-nights. The wedding is just over three weeks away, and after 2 strips, I’ve seen a pretty good improvement in my teeth. My question is- should I continue with the other four strips now, or wait and use them in the week leading up to the wedding? How long will they look nice and bright? I drink one cup of coffee in the morning, and usually iced tea (the powdered mix) with supper, but other than that, I drink water during the day. I’m using a straw for my coffee now, and I can try to remember to do that from here on out.
Advice? I’ve never used whitestrips seriously before.

Can’t you do all the whitestrips your dentist gave you now, and pick up a pack of less potent ones at the drugstore to continue with?
It’s only going to set you back about $30, I think it’s worth it. 🙂

I am using the Crest 3D White toothpaste and mouthwash and it is amazing! You could use that up to the wedding and use the last 4 strips right before the wedding.

So you both feel that if i continue with the strips now, they will fade some in the three weeks that I’m not using them? I don’t want to look super-over-whitened, just brighten it up a bit, you know? (my teeth weren’t awful to begin with… i dont smoke, or drink much, etc.)
I’ll look into the toothpaste and mouthwash… hmm

If you haven’t had any sensitivity from the ones you’ve done so far, that’s a good sign. With each additional session, tho, your sensitivity level may increase. I wouldn’t hold off and do them wedding week just because there is a greater potential for your mouth to be sore. If anything, finish them up the week before, and if you want them their brightest, eliminate the coffee and tea altogether.

There is a natural remedy that works fabulously. You mix strawberries with baking soda and rub it onto your teeth. A girl I work with does this and I could not beleive she didn’t get her teeth professionally whitened! Check out the specifics with google:D

I’ve been told many times over that I have “cartoon white” teeth. Not sure if that’s really a good thing but I attribute most of it to sucking on strawberries after coffee or tea or red wine whenever I can. Something about the fruit acid in strawberries can really cut enamel stains.
I take a strawberry and bite into it with my front teeth. I keep it there for a minute or two and then I grab it by the stem and (while still having my teeth sunk into it) move it from side to side for 30-60 seconds.
Then I brush my teeth. You don’t want the acid to sit on your teeth for too long and your teeth will be slightly pink after you do this. Brushing will obviously clear the pink away.

Is the strawberry thing true? I’ve heard it a few times but never bothered to try it… Also, where can i get the strips from (in UK) as I would love a DIY treatment rather than spending a fortune on pro whitening?

Coconut oil pulling is my suggestion. It’s amazing, natural and cheap 🙂

Sorry, i haven’t got the faintest idea how to tag but alhambra, crest have a uk site too with money off at the moment, i’ve just started using the crest strips (think i got the advanced vivid) and i’ve been using them since sat and have noticed a change. my teeth are quite sensitive usually but i’ve been using colgate pro-relief toothpaste too and (fingers crossed!) haven’t noticed any problems yet although the tip of my tongue feels a bit sore when i’m done.
