I’m actually working on our invitations right now. We’re doing them all by ourselves. We got our inspiration from this picture we found on the web.
We bought some yards of burlap fabric cut them out into the shape we wanted, then brushed them with a mix of school glue and water, we let them dry and TADA! you get an amazing fabric like this one. We got our burlap in the lighter natural color. I’ll post pictures and step by step instructions on how we did them when we get them done.

@SandA those are amazing! i’ve never seen anything like them before! i’m using a ton of burlap in our recption decor DIY projects… but I had never thought about using it for the invites! great idea!
@MissTeacher7 I was thinking a vintage/rustic invitation idea might be an invite with a faux bois print background (or real wood, if it’s in your budget) with a piece of wide lace ribbon fastened around it.

OMG dont you just love the SHUTTER escort card holder?? im in love with it.
I already started a collection of aqua mason jars– i think i have 40 of them. My fiance runs a restaurant and I asked him to bring me home one of the big tin sauce cans ( you know like the little cans we get veggies in only huge). I found a picture of a square vase wrapped in lace, with a crystal brooch. i loved it! so im going to wrap the silver can in blue fabric ( my color– some kind of blue like the mason jar) then wrap a little lace around the blue, then a white ribbon around the lace and then the brooch. hahha i know that sounded way confusing, but i can picture it. ill see if i can upload the pic of the inspriation.
I also bought 20 little chalk boards for the table numbers, but i think now i might go with something else…not sure yet.
I cant exactly remember the entry way to my tent area at the venue, so im not sure if i did the shutter idea for the escort cards, where it would go. I also like the tin trays full of grass with the name cards. I also just found a pic of a bouquet i LOVE and will fit in perfect.

My favorite site right now is http://roxyheartvintage.com I got married last year and bought a cake stand from them and my goodness it was stunning. It truly set the tone of my wedding. Check out the site and you will see what I mean. They also have some great decorations like rustic flower baskets and bird cages.

Here is my cake stand that my dad made! We also used galvanized wash tubs full of glass bottles of soda to hand out between the wedding and reception! We also did a smore’s bar! I’m adding a few pics!
