We got married at he jersey shore.   Our venue was all inclusive,  and it was about 65%of our budget.

Ways we saved:

Found a local company that provided photography,  videographer,  DJ and officiant.   By booking all 4, we got a HUGE discount.

Dress: with alterations,  came to around  $600.

Centerpiece: we created palm trees on each table.   We found large vases in sale 45% off  at ac moore.  Bought large bag of landscape sand at lowes.  Randomly found seashells,  starfish and sand dollars for low cost,  ordered preserved palm leaves from saveincrafts.com, ordered small twinkly lights from amazon for $6 each.   Bought bamboo landscape  stakes from lowes,  abd cut them in half.   Total cost per table : $30. Florist quote: $75.  My husband and friends put them together.  We DIY’D Almost everything.   This saved us a ton of money.

We DIY’d nearly all of it.

I’m on the same boat. I live in southern California and everything is sooo expensive. My only demands are that there is a view and it’s NOT in LA. I’m trying to diy a lot of stuff like invitations and some decorations and most importantly the alcohol because I’m marrying a home brewer and my dad is a home brewer. But none of it is helping. We set a 10k budget but it’s looking like we need to try to scrounge for 15..

roxpow12:  Honestly that’s about right I think if that includes all in. I feel like we’re skimping as much as possible and still going to come out around 10-11k once it’s all said and done. That includes venue, food, alcohol, DJ, rings, invites, flowers, decorations, etc…

Just FYI on the rings, we ended up paying $715 for our bands (one white gold, one yellow gold, no frills). I only budgeted $500 and had to end up shifting somethings around.

Our budgets are very similar. It is def doable but you have to be careful. We didn’t do favors, no fancy decor, etc. it is a casual reception so we are having it catered by a local food truck for $10.50 a head, buffet style (105 guests). a plus was that we didn’t have to be so concerned about people bringing kids or BFs or GFs, since it’s not a sit down, assigned seating meal.

Alcohol is hella expensive, but we are able to pay for it because the food costs werent bad.

my moms family is crafty and they volunteered to do the decor and centerpieces as their gift to us so I let them have at it 🙂

no videographer, no big rentals, no stretch limo, flowers are only for boutineers and bouquets. And it still adds up to $11,500! I can’t believe it! But we feel it will still be a great day and we’re Ok about the cost because we stayed in our budget.
