We are on our 4th day of sunny weather…and after 4 months of gray clouds, everyone here is out and about. I’m ready to start working out again but it’s been a while so I want to ease into it.
I’m not looking at losing a ton of weight, no more than 10 lbs…and I’m mostly after overall toning…AND increasing my endurance. We travel a lot in the spring/summer and usually walk 5-6 miles a day when we do and I don’t want to be exhausted.
I work 2-3 days a week (8-12 hours each day) and I’m on my feet all day….usually walking around the store….I can tell my legs are getting a workout (I have a tendency to bulk up easily in my legs) b/c my jeans are getting tighter around my calves.
I had a laparascopy last month and even though I’ve been cleared to start working out again….I’d like to ease into it.
We have a treadmill and I have a bike (although that one bulks my legs up too.)
I did a boot camp last spring but I wound up (like all the other women there) getting an injury the last week of it….I basically went from NO exercise to INTENSE exercise and I don’t want to do that again.
I was going to Zumba classes 2x a week and LOVED it but once I got my job, I had to stop since they are only offered the same days I’m at work. They have other classes, spin, yoga, body training, etc.
I guess I’m one of those gals that was “blessed” to put on muscle so easily…although I have a JLo booty, it’s mostly muscle. I’m considered overweight for my actual weight but I’m a healthy BMI. If I lift weights (and I’m strong) I will bulk up on my arms….I have A LOT of muscle tone but I don’t really like it…I know I shouldn’t lose the muscle but I don’t know how to do it while losing weight.
I’d like to change up my diet too in order to gain more energy…I’ve been sluggish b/c of the weather, the stress at work, the physical activity at work, etc. My diet isn’t horrible….not great but I do try to limit the bad foods.
Anyone have some workout/diet suggestions for me?
