So…what are all my ladies doing??
I’m trying to figure out if I should have the ceremony and reception in the same place.
Granted the church is only about 5-10 mins away. I never really had a preference for getting married at church.
I’ve tried to go through the pros vs cons to include cost.
But, the cost is pretty much the same..I’ll break even either way… Only difference..if I have wedding at reception I may have to really may more for a florist…
Any advice on how you came up with a decision??
Thanks in adance!

My ceremony and reception are in the same place. The ceremony will take place in the grassy area and then the reception is under the pavillion thing. Whatever works for you, if you don’t want to have a church ceremony there isn’t anything wrong with doing it all in one place.
Plus, it saves on an insert for wedding invitations. At least it did for me 🙂

I dont think they should be, I think its whatever you prefer. If you want to get married at the church, then do so. Do what is the best for you and your FI! We had both at the same place and loved it but plenty of people dont and love that too!

My ceremony and reception were in the same exact place. After the ceremony we had cocktail hour somewhere else while they set up the reception. I wanted the ceremony there, so it just made sense to have the reception there too.
I think either way is fine. I thought it was convenient not to have to drive over to the reception b/c we were already there.

Our ceremoney and reception will be at the same place. It really just makes things easier for us and our guests and I want things as fuss free as possible. 🙂 But you should do whatever you like. Are your instincts telling you either way? Your wedding will be great whatever you decide.

Hi, our ceremony & Reception are going to be in the same place. It’s at a gallery with a loft area on top where we’re having our ceremony and reception downstairs. You should do what feels right to you, as for us it was just cost effective and easier for guests to just arrive at one location for everything.

Our ceremony and reception will be held at the same hotel, but our ceremony is in the gazebo, and our reception is in the garden room, just 50 yds away. i think it saves guests from driving from one place to another and parking. plus as i am getting ready at the hotel,so i wont need a wedding car, as i will already be there, and that will save me £150 at least. then as you said, you wont have 2 venues to decorate either, our floral decoration from the gazebo will later be carried into the reception room for us.
Having it all in one place not only cuts costs for you, but it also cuts driving for your guests.
