Hello all, I really need some help.
I have a peacock themed wedding with the colors of eggplant and teal. Guys are wearing black suits, I have a ivory dress with a teal insert of color on the back of the train. My bridesmaids are wearing this dress (see below).
My 2 Maid/Matron of Honor are wearing Eggplant, and the rest of the bridle party (total of 5 girls) is wearing Teal. I am having a problem with shoe color, type.
Would it be okay to let them pick their own black shoe? Will a black shoe look dumb? What would be the best color? What should I do….
HELP!! 🙂 I appreciate any and all input… I am at a complete loss.
Ohh – wedding is July 16 2011

I wouldn’t do black for a July wedding. Have thought of silver?

I agree with the silver idea! Silver really pops against jewel tones like teal and aubergine, plus it’s an appropriate color choice for summertime. Black, while versatile, can look a bit heavy and dreary in the warm months. With a long dress, the bridesmaids having matching shoes isn’t really that big of a deal, so I say let your girls pick their own shoes so they might find something they’ll wear again. 🙂

You could also go with gold! Since the dress is long, I’m not sure that you even need to stipulate a color.
