So my fiance and I are going back and forth about where the best honeymoon spot for us will be. We have both always wanted to go to Venice Italy, but part of me feels like that is more of a vacation than a honeymoon. Sure, its one of the most romantic places I can think of off the top of my head, but it will definately be a run run run trip for us. Its one of those once in a life time experiences for us so we will want to see everything!! When I think of a honeymoon I think relaxation with the one you love, sleep in, and focus on each other.
Also budget is somthing to think about. It would be roughly 6k for us to go to Italy… and thats staying at a holiday inn and eating pizza every night. So if we went to the bahamas or on a cruise we would be able to put that extra money into spa time, nicer hotels, 5 star resturants. Not that we’re high maintence by any means but what better time to pamper ourselves.
So bees… i need your imput, what makes more sense?

I voted Italy before reading your entire post .. considering the budget , and what you said afterward I think the bahamas would be a better choice for you guys & ur honeymoon

My concern with going to Italy is that there is so much to see and do that you feel like you’re missing something if you just sit and relax. I used to see people running around ragged on their honeymoons in Italy and think it was not the best idea. Also, luxury in Italy does NOT come cheap and sometimes it doesn’t even come friendly. I feel like after the wedding you need to only think about what flavor margarita you prefer, but that’s just me.

I voted other. I’m all for Italy but that’s because I love to travel to Europe but it can be quite costly.
Not a big cruise person. I don’t like being stuck w/ a bunch of other ppl for 7 days. Now I may feel different if I did a European cruise.
Personally if you want more of a Honeymoon in the Caribbean, try a different island that have a ton of all all-inclusives. There are a ton of deals where you can find some great options. Allinclusiveoutlet.com, travelzoo.com, shermantravel.com, airlines, bookit.com, expedia.com, etc. I always check out tripadvisor and frommers to read reviews.

I think the Bahamas sounds like the best honeymoon spot.

How about a cruise that makes a few stops in Italian cities?
