@vorpalette:  I’m with you – I would never want a wood floor in my bedroom (love warm comfy carpets there) but love wood floors in kitchens, dining rooms, etc.

I’m confused. Are you doing hardwood floors, engineered wood floors or laminate flooring? In the OP you said laminate but the poll is about wood.

Either way, I’m not a carpet person.

First take care of the non negotiables that you will need to have proper plumbing, heat , water etc.

Then do the floors! I also think getting rid of a carpet is a very important thing as you don’t knw what has happend on them? Mold, bacteria, fleas, lice, creepy substances or whatever could be lurking in them.

Maybe you guys could do a few spare jobs on the side for extra money to make your timeline and budget work better?!

I would do the floors before you move in!  I had a horrible allergic reaction when my landlord recently replaced the carpeting in our appartment! My whole body was covered in a itchy, red rash for a few days.  It was not fun!  (and I’m a huge wood fan!)

$350 is NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. Definitely no contest. Do wood! You’ll pay less in the long term, too – you won’t need to replace it every 5-10 years!

Just saw your post about Christmas/birthday budget woes. I think this would be an appropriate year to cut back on what you spend on presents and invest a little more on the house. You’ll end up spending less in the long run if you do the wood vs carpet, making that a better purchase than presents that will be forgotten about soon after they are opened.

I would def say wood, i mayself have wood floors throughout my home, however its a lot to take care of, mines cant be wet, so to clean it cant only be with a special liquid, can be easily scratched, it wants nothing to do with pets specially dogs, a main reason why i dont have any 🙁 but other than that it gives the one a beautiful look and great value!

Do it right the first time. You got a great deal on this trailer. Do the floors the right way now. Doing them later might mean displacing your things or yourselves later on.
