Hey everyone! I want your opinions on my situation. My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 3 1/2 years and have talked a lot about engagement and marriage over the past year and a half. We finally decided to go ring shopping and he actually wanted me to customize my own ring, which I did. He gets so excited and told me that the ring came in on Saturday and it’s currently in our safe at home! I’m going crazy waiting for it! I wanted a big proposal but now I don’t think so since the surprise factor isn’t there and neither of us are particularly romantic anyways. Should I see the ring before he proposes? Did anyone in a similar situation as mine see their ring before he proposed and regret it?

I got a custom ring and I didn’t see it! I wanted it to be a complete surprise!
Congratulations! Can’t wait to see it!

I saw my ring, still didn’t know when the proposal was coming. Nothing was lost by seeing it in advance (Or trying it on one or five times. 😊). 3 years later and I still love it.

We designed the ring together, so I already knew what it looked like. I didn’t even know the ring had come in, so the first time I actually saw the real finished product was at the proposal. 🙂

I had the same situation and I think it was the best of both worlds. We designed it together so I knew what it was going to look like, but it was still an exciting surprise when he pulled out the ring and surprised me with a proposal. OP, I would try to fight the urge to look at the ring even though you know it’s in your house. Good luck!
