Where is the option that says “No, because you aren’t crazy about it”. Personally, forget all that beach approriate wedding dress nonsense for a minute and think whether this is a dress you feel amazing on. Like a bride. It might be too high on you, but I am assuming this dress was pinned to fit you. So it is sitting a little high because it is not made for you. If you only have moments of loving it, then keep looking. you have barely six months though so no pressure but you are going to need to get a dress soon. 🙂

I think this dress is gorgeous and is going to catch the breeze on the beach beautifully… but having said that, it has to be what you want.  Personally, I love the dress on you and feel like it hits all the right notes for the most part.

I agree with you about the assessment of it cutting too high across your chest, but that’s an easy easy fix.  You just sweetheart the neckline and it’ll be perfect.

I love the flower, the rusching, the kicking curves and the fabulous draping of the skirt. The cut is perfect for you.

In the interest of full disclosure, I went more formal than my venue might have suggested.  It worked perfectly, so I might be a little biased.

I got married on a beach, but I did not want a beachy/destination wedding dress, so I don’t think that it’s not venue appropriate.

However, In My Humble Opinion, it’s kind of lackluster/boring dress which is why you got the reaction.  If you wanted something simple, you need to still make it exciting elsewhere.  Perhaps choose something that is more form-fitting silhouette.

Also, if you have doubts about the dress, get another one or you’re regret it everytime you look at your pics.

The dress is beautiful and it fits the curves of your body very nicely. It is an understated gown so its not too over the top for a beach wedding and since you are going to add a sweetheart neckline, the dress will not be too high on your chest. Just because you are having a beach wedding doesn’t mean you have to have a super casual dress. This dress is perfect and it looks great on your figure!

Aside from opinions from strangers… If YOU are regretting your purchase don’t keep it to make things easier. You need to be happy with it and if that means returning/exchanging it for something different, do it. Don’t beat yourself up for making a mistake (if you still feel you’ve made one). You deserve to feel and look your best!

    Good luck!

I honestly think this dress is so beautiful and PERFECT for a beach wedding! You have time to change tho, so if you’re not happy with it, then it might be worth at least trying on some other styles to see how you feel…

I actually like your dress.  In your picture it IS up very high on your bust.  That’s probably just how they pinned it.  When I was trying on dresses, they had me hold it up to myself where I wanted on my boobs, and I could shift it higher or lower, and they then’d pin it back as I held it.  If in that picture you had loosened up the corset a smidge it should have slipped a bit lower, or your alterations person can help as that seems like an easy fix.

I also think it’s a great dress for the beach.  It’s not poufy with the crinoline removed, and the fabric is light and airy and dreamy.

I also have a personal bias towards dress detailing/texture done solely with the fabric on the dress (rather than beading, lace, etc.), like yours has.  I like it.

it’s a beautiful dress and not too heavy for the beach, especially if you remove the crinoline. the neckline can easily be fixed and lowered. however the more important part is that you don’t seem happy about it. what would you rather be wearing?

I’m getting married on the beach and I don’t have a beachy dressy!  I actually think my dress is too much for the beach but I dont care because I love it!!!  If you love the dress, use it!  And your Fi loved it too!

I think that dress is beautiful and perfect for the beach.  Please don’t listen to your friends – everyone has a different idea about what a wedding dress is “supposed” to look like in their mind.

I showed my dress to 1 of my best friends and she told me she thought it was too plain and thought I could to better (my dress was a ebay find and I had extra $$ in my budget if it did not work and I told her this).  So I asked her to show me what kind of dresses she liked online and she came up with a super poofy princess style that with tons of lace and beading.  My dress is very simple and that’s what I’m drawn to so that made me understand that it’s just different ideas that people have about what THEY would want to wear to their own wedding.

I think the dress looks great on you! I also don’t really think it’s that elaborate. There’s a lot to it but I’d say if it had tons of beading and lace and other things then it might not fit in with the beach so well–but this is perfect. I also don’t think the neckline looks too high but if you ordered it in a sweetheart neckline then I think it’ll look even better. I love it but if you aren’t happy with it then you shouldn’t settle.

The dress looks really pretty on you. As for being a beachy v. non-beachy dress – I think this strikes a good balance! I like that you are wearing a more “formal” dress for your beach wedding but at the same time it doesn’t look like it’ll be out of place. The organza is very beach friendly as is the flower detail. If you fear it is not fancy enough, add some jewelery! If you think it’s not beachy enough, maybe do your hair down w/a flower? Hope this helps. I think you look beautiful and don’t worry too much about what other people say b/c in the end, it is your day 🙂
