Hey Bees! We’ve just been given a HUGE gift…some wonderful friends of ours are paying for our honeymoon!! All we have to take care of are transportation (live in east TN) and food/entertainment. We are struggling financially and without their help wouldn’t have been able to do much of anything.
Anyways…they told us to pick 3 destinations and they will surprise us with one as it gets closer to wedding (May 8). They need to be in-state. Myrtle Beach is one of them. Any suggestions on the other two?? All I want is a beach and peacefullness. LOL FI doesn’t mind beach, but wants lots of options for entertainment. He suggested Orlando bc of Disney and Sea World and all that good stuff. But it’s an hour to the nearest beach I think. We’ve also discussed Destin and Key West.
What’s your ideas?

I would say somewhere in Florida for sure. Somewhere on the keys would be beautiful. Went to Sanibel Island one year and it was gorgeous. What about the outer banks?? Its really beatiful there as well – a little harder to get to but totally worth it. If all you are looking for is a good beach I would say The Carolinas or Florida. Georgia also has some pretty islands off of it (Sea Island) but they can be a little more expensive .What about Hilton Head Island or Kiawah Island off of SC?

what about west coast- maybe san diego. There is beach, tons to do and it would be a great getaway!
Another idea would be Savannah… beach access but also history and great town, amazing restaurants and pretty easy to get to from TN.

I second Savannah. SUCH a beautiful town. If you don’t mind a long car ride, you can drive there from eastern TN in about 7-8 hours.

My vote goes to St. Augustine, FL. It is a beautiful historic town with lots of stuff to see and do. Plus, you are less than 2 hours to Orlando and Disney and you are right on the beach. As an added bonus you are really close to Jacksonville and its attractions as a ‘big city’. (Dining, nightlife, theatre, etc etc etc). Really, I just think St. Augustine is beautiful and romantic!

I love Key West! It’s a lot o fun. The beaches aren’t the best. But it’s a good time.
