allyfally:  Bouncers are great, we got my niece the Fischer Price Deluxe Bouncer-My Little Snugapuppy and it was a lifesaver for my Bro and SIL, especially the first few weeks!

I’d urge you to reconsider the Rock and Play. My career requires me to know about safe sleep and I’ve done a lot of research. The Rock and Play is not a safe sleep device, even though it is popularly used as one. The soft fabric/angled sides/ can easily create a suffocation risk. SIDS is very often preventable with safe sleep techniques!

American Academy of Pediatrics list of requirements for safe sleep:

These articles expand on that info.

That said, happy planning and pre-shopping! : ) I have an amazon wishlist accessible only to Darling Husband and I that we add cool producs we hear about while TTC.

Here’s a gear review website to geek out with. It’s made by someone who used to write for Gizmodo (a big tech review site, DH’s fave : ) http://thenightlight.com/

One more thing! The place I work has moved from recommending the Boppy as a breastfeeding pillow to using it only as a “positioning/tummy time device” and My Brest Friend pillow is exclusively offered as the breastfeeding pillow. I think the rationale is the Brest Friend produces a more natural alignment of baby as it’s more flat, and the Boppy is more curved.
