So Darling Husband and I are having a VR for our 10 year anniversary. I want to do a sand ceremony and for the table I wanted to have a monogrammed table cloth. I found something on oriental trading companies website, but I am unsure if it is going to look cheap. Can anyone please tell me if they have either ordered one of these or if it will look cheap or tacky?

I have never purchased one or seen one, so I can’t say anything about their quality, but I think that some of the designs that they had were nice. Some of the styles are a bit more my taste than others, but I would definately think it was a cute touch to an accent table (cake, sand, etc), just not a main table. I wouldn’t want the photographs to have to include the full table each time or cut half of the table cloth out and look awkard.
I’m not sure that I’d order one (because it’s not something I’d use again, save for maybe another anniversary or VR years down the road) and it can’t be resold. Depending on the quality of the fabric, you could maybe make a nice pillow or quilt piece with it, but I’d think of the repurpose potential before spending $50+ on one. If you like them, though, go for it!

I don’t think it looks cheap or tacky, and like PPs said, I would definitely make it into a pillow or incorporate it into a quilt so you can treasure it later. 🙂

Not opposed to the idea of a monogrammed tablecloth but I don’t like that particular one :/

The prettiest cake table I have ever seen at a wedding was an embroidered cloth.
The couple had a floor length navy blue organza tabelcloth over a navy blue satin cloth.
The organza was embroidered with the couples first names and the date of the wedding . The embroidery was also done in navy blue so the effect was visible but understated.
The bride just took the organza cloth to a local shop that does machine embroidery for team uniforms etc. The work is computerized. It took only minutes and they charged about $15 I think.
You could do the same idea but with a monogram.

@loving_life: Same. I think it’s a little busy looking… I would treature a plain linen tablecloth with a small monogram on one corner, but that’s probably just my taste.
