Please Remember this is a EXTREAMLY Low budget wedding:
My fiance and I have been engaged for 3 years now trying to save money for the wedding, I desided this year with some urgeing from my dieing grandfather “don’t wait” to plan it. We just got his parents approval a couple weeks ago ( it’s a really long story) and I’m doing the invitations myself, it’s in a park, with a picnic reception that I’m going to do most of the cooking for. Biggest of all is the lack of a dress which has generated some pressure from my mother and maids of honor but I am of a very large size and dresses are hard to find and more expencive to design yourself if you can even find a seamstress to sew it. I was figureing everyone would be happy to wear jeans and sweaters in the middle of october. I was wondering if anyone has had wedding that was this casual before? do I still need to make a bouquet? we can’t afford to rent chairs for the service so how do you explain you may want to bring a camping chair? we desided not to do a procession since everyone will be walking to where the wedding will be (not far but not where we’re meeting either)? I’m so lost on all of this and all my friends have had more formal church weddings So any ideas are helpful.

I think a casual wedding at the park will be fine. I would suggest going to Lane Bryant and purchasing a pretty white or cream sun dress for really cheap. I think it’ll be nice. Just relax and enjoy the process of planning your big day.

Here are some great free invitation downloads
Check Craigslist in your area, you might also be able to find a dress on there.
Good luck and have fun with the planning!

@erynfaith: sorry. Dollar tree has great stuff for weddings. You can make a small cake and do cupcakes for the cake.
Here is a great DIY for cupcake wrappers
I did all my flowers except my bouquet from dollar tree
Here is a great inspirational board for a rustic outdoor picnic wedding
They also carry the lanterns at dollar tree 🙂
Grab a chair, a blanket, or a peice of green, we just really want you there as We Get Hitched. Then you can make it rustic.
This one is an engagement invite, but it’s cute
