- Wedding: March 2012
I’m new to this negotiating thing and I would like some help. All of the help, I read stated that I should keep the word “wedding” out of the pricing process for as long as possible. We are currently looking for caterers and some have flat out asked, “Is this for a wedding?” I don’t want to lie but I am not sure what to answer. Others just assume it’s a wedding in their responses and I didn’t correct them. I have tried saying, “Yes, it’s a wedding but I would like to see your pricing for other occasions as well.”
Also, what about vendors that ask for your budget straight out. My guess would be to lowball it but by how much? 10%? 20%? Help!
