I’d call animal control and claim that I don’t know whose dogs they are. This way at least the owners will get a bit of a scare too.

@bailey12:  I agree call animal control, if they are in your backyard the owner may say you stole them or something crazy… If they even notice they are gone.

@bailey12:  Good! It’ll have more of an impact than you just bringing the pups back. Poor things!

I would call animal control, hopefully the dogs will find a new home with somone who cares about them. But honestly if a dog ran up and jumped on me, I’d have a hard time not hitting it with something if I didn’t know it was friendly. Especially a pitbull breed!

There is no chance this other neighbour will tell the dog owners that you knew two the owner is?

I had a neighbor like this growing up. After many fines they ended up just locking their dogs in the basement or garage all day. The last time their dogs got out it stayed in our, unfenced yard or weeks hiding under our deck, they eventually lost custody. If it keeps persisting I might go above animal control and do a non-emergency police call for human safety as a small child could easily be injured especially with summer around the corner. Most places even if you know where they live will allow you to report the incident as many cities have strict dog rules.

If animal control is called depending on your area more than likely they will be put down as being a “pit bull”. If you don’t tell them who the owner is they have no way of “scaring” the owners.

@bailey12:  i’m glad she took them. the owners don’t deserve to have them. i’m also glad to hear your city doesn’t discriminate against pitbulls (pibbles as i like to call them :-)) they’re obviously sweet dogs so hopefully the owners won’t get them back and they’ll go to a home where they’re actually wanted!

@bailey12:  So glad to hear that! Hopefully the owners won’t get them back and they can be adopted by someone who will take care of them.
