I like that idea.

What about jelly beans or M&Ms instead of nerds? Those are easier to get in separated colors.

I think that sounds really cool, although honestly as a guest I wouldn’t want to eat it at your buffet after! It was part of your ceremony, it’s “sacred”!!! LOL!

haha i love this idea – mostly because i love nerds! probably my favorite candy of all time.

i’ve never seen them sold in seperate colors in bulk – you may have to do a bunch of little boxes – but a couple bags of those should be enough.

the only thing is that if you are planning on keeping the vases filled then the candy might attract bugs or ants get nasty etc etc…

If not, then nerd it up!!

I think I love you. No advice, just backing your idea 100% πŸ™‚

As a guest, I’m with bakerella, though, I would feel evil eating your marriage Nerds!

I would totally eat your sacred marriage nerds :). Awesome idea, and I love the XBOX cufflinks!

Just as a thought, have you considered a sand “frame”?  A frame with a picture of your wedding with the sand behind it in another “pane”?

Just a thought.  If not, like PP said, Nerd away πŸ™‚

Such a fun idea, I’m on the fence as to whether I’d eat them though!

I love this idea!  I was going to do a sand ceremony because we’re at the ocean and I

1. Hate the unity candle – it always goes out

2. Am sure with the ocean breeze a candle will never ever light and then what does that mean?  Is my marriage not supposed to last if the thing won’t light?

3. Sand, beach, hey it all goes together.

My dilemma.  Should I keep the sand after?  What do I do with it?  If you have “sacred candy” you can feed it to your guests, but I can see where they might get a liitle weirded out by it.  Plus I’m sure if I tried to transport my “sacred sand” back home it would end up all over my car if I took a sharp turn or something.

I think it’s cool as long as you aren’t going to feel heartbroken later about not being able to keep it.

As for the color thing, I just tried to Google buying single-color Nerds in bulk and came up with nothing. Looks like you might have to break open some of those little boxes!

@jo.lee: “I would totally eat your sacred marriage nerds”

Not a sentence I ever thought I would read lol.

P.s. I love the idea.
