We are seriously considering naming our child Logan James _____, in reference to Wolverine (Whose real name is James Howlett, and he adopted “Logan” as a nn). (Bonus: James is DH’s name, and a family name as well!)

Sæborg is an old traditional Icelandic name, but it’s pronounced like cyborg. I know a Star Trek fan that wanted to name his child that for the cyborg connection, but he had a boy.

@lizardloo: Who wouldn’t? Unfortunately I know Fiance would vetoe any Lord of the Rings/Hobbit related names haha

@KateByDesign: It is a beautiful name 🙂

@mrstea83: This is currently our top Boy name as well! Mostly because we like the name Logan and James will be our middle name no matter what (a family name in both families). But Darling Husband was quick to notice the Wolverine connection.
Darling Husband and I have always like Elika for a girl. From Prince of Persia.

My ex named his firstborn “Ryker” (like as in William T. Riker of Star Trek TNG). I cringe everytime I remember this and am sooo glad I did not marry him. I love ST, but not THAT much.

@mrstea83: Holy Crap! That is our already decided name for our future little boy! Logan because of X-Men, but James is his granddad’s name and also just happens to be Logan’s ‘real” name!! So we have decided on Logan James as well! That is amazing!

@mkat37: Oh man! Triple name twins, awesom! 🙂

@canarydiamond: LOL, Fiance has a nephew named Ryker.
One of my coworkers’ names is James Kirk. But I don’t think I’d use a Trek name. I like Elhayim from Xenogears. (Elly for short.)

My daughter wasn’t named after a character, but her name is Luna 🙂 love HP and Sailor Moon so that works anyway lol.

@Haruyou: Logan from Xmen and Parker from Spiderman.

If I have a son, he is seriously going to be named James. Partly because of Harry Potter and partly because i love the name. I named my parents dog Lily. I may have an obsession.

The names Darling Husband and I are mostly decided on for our future kids are both references to nerdy things!!
For a boy, Malcolm – after Capt. Malcolm Reynolds on Firely and Dr. Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park
For a girl, Amelia – after Amelia (nn. Amy) Pond from Doctor Who
We have a bunch of other names we like that are nerdy references as well, so here’s a list…haha
Duncan – after Duncan MacLeod from the TV version of Highlander
Logan – after Wolverine from X-Men (seems to be popular in this thread!)
Miles – after Miles Matheson from Revolution
Nathan – after actor Nathan Fillion (from Firefly and Castle and Dr. Horrible)
Anya – after Anya Jenkins from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Lily – after Lily Potter from Harry Potter
Mina – after Mina Harker in Dracula

My SO and I both like the name Horatio (Lord Nelson). I also like Alrgernon, Rupert Bear’s friend and the smart but tragic mouse in ‘Flowers for Algernon.’ Horatio Algernon.
I love the name Lily, but i’m not telling him about the Harry Potter connection… Particularly because James is a good family name in his family.
