Haha, didn’t get through all the posts, but my Darling Husband asked if we could name our son (if we have one) Kratos from the video game God of War!! It’s his favorite game. LOL

My husband wants to name our future son Edgar Allen (yes, like Edgar Allen Poe).  I told him I’ll go with Edgar, but we’re going to have to compromise on the middle name.

This is a fabulous thread! Better not let my husband see any of these!

I also wanted to name a girl Jadzia from DS9. But then a friend of mine did 🙁

Tiberius! so cute for a boy. And not a very obvious Star Trek reference. You would have to be a trekky to get it.

@MrsConnolly2bee:  I’m also in Boston and we were looking at baby names. They list Boston as a boy’s name. Like a baby in Boston NAMED Boston. How confusing would that be?

@Haruyou:  You could always tell him Rue was for Rue McClanahan. 🙂

Atticus! I’ve always loved this name, but thought it too nerdy and serious for a real-life child.

I am a geology nerd and would briefly consider naming my kids:

Olivine
Galena
Beryl
Gypsum
Cobalt
Garnet
Mica

Is it sad that the only reason I’m not all over Olivine is because of how popular Olivia/Olive/Oliver are?

I had a professor who had a dog named Gabbro. I guess they are a little out there, I might have to settle for naming my pets these names instead!

@BrandNewBride:  My husband keeps teasing me that we will name our son Darth Vader. Not a chance. I keep telling him that Luke is acceptable – he can name his kid after Star Wars, and I’ll name mine after Luke from the Bible.

Pretty much any name from LOTR. They’re so pretty.

From Harry Potter, I love Draco, Sirius, Severus, and Minerva.

I love Caspian from Chronicles of Narnia (and we’re actually planning on using it!)

I love sooo many names from Game of Thrones. Tyrian, Sansa, Cersei, Daenerys.

I love Cassander and Hephaistion from Alexander (Hephaistion was real, not sure about Cassander.)

I also love a lot of mythological names. Athena, Andromeda (which is FIs sisters name!) Ariadne, Freya, Pandora.
