@IngridS: I’d also love to know what reading you are using. I can’t seem to find one I’m happy with

We are all flavors of nerdy here.. we tried to be subtle in our application π
Our prelude will be from skyrim, and our processional and my entrance will be from Final fantasy. My bridesmaids will be getting Final Fantasy plushes along with more regular bridesmaids gifts.
For a touch of steampunk my Fiance is giving his groomsmen engraved pocket watches and umbrellas, and well have antique brass bird cages and a clock on the table where people go in. Our flowers will be in Hendrick’s gin bottle vases.
Our wedding cake topper is a knight and a green fairy and we’ll be giving our DJ a bunch of power metal ballads to play during the reception.
Should be a blast π
Our centerpieces were stacks of our own books and we had scrabble tiles strewn about as well π
We also played the Throne Room track from Star Wars while people were being seated–I vetoed playing it during the actual ceremony.
We had ping pong out in the lobby during our cocktail hour, that was fun!
Our personal vows included a few dorky elements as well
I know a lot of people use the song of the Ents and the Ent Wives, but I find that song somewhat depressing! lol
Thanks all for commenting! These are fun to read about π
We are having a complete Victorian steampunk wedding…asking guests to dress up too!
we’re naming our tables after famous scientists and using test tubes to hold our edible favors.
My fiance and I will be asking our cake vender to put in few red, yellow, green, and blue “Bricks” in the back of the cake to simulate Legos (we’re thinking that the cake is made of legos and a small part wasn’t quite finished). We’re also going to have a Lego cake toper next to the one my parents are insisting on since we actually got together over Lego Indiana Jones (no joke).
He’s also a HUE dragon lover so to surprise him, I foud these dragon champaign flutes in our wedding colour for him.

That’s about as geeky as my parents are letting us go (they’re helping us out so they get a big say).
These are our cake toppers:
I’ll have a lot more to share on this thread once my professional pictures get back to me.
@IngridS: I think its great!!!! i am having a elegant harry potter themed reception
Alot of our wedding is traditional, but we will be entering into our reception to the Dr. Who theme music.
At some point, myself and all of my bridesmaids and who ever else would like to join will be doing the Time Warp, complete with full AP lines, As I’m a Rocky Horror Junkie.
And our final dance will be to “As the World Falls Down” by David Bowie, as a subtle nod to the Labyrinth, which I consider to be geeky in a pop culture, Jim Henson, 80s movie type of way.
Love This Thread! My Fi is a huge nerd and has been slowly sucking me into it!
We are still finalizing our details, but there will be a song from zelda at some point in our ceremony. My Fi is a huge ghostbuster fan! Ghostbusters will be played when the groomsmen enter, and they will all be wearing proton packs. His cake topper is the Venkman action figure from the courtroom scene in gb2. We are having a candybar that is going to be decorated with an assortment of action figures and toys. To top it all off an 8ft inflateable staypuft will be at our cocktail hour. He also hates to dance, so there maybe laser tag available for the guys to play. I can get into the Ghostbuster stuff, but I drew the line when it came to D and D!
