We’re leaving the ceremony to a piano version of the Game of Thrones theme which my friend/bridesmaid is going to play On the venue’s piano.  So excited!

I’m so jealous! I mentioned walking down the aisle to Hedwig’s Theme from Harry Potter, and my fiance was like, “Nooooooooooo.”

Oooh her stuff is lovely! I plan to walk down to Django Reinhardt’s instrumental “Beyond the Sea” from the game Bioshock ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s his favorite game and song, and will just sound old school to everyone else. Plus everyone knows we love old 1940s stuff so it’s perfect. He is also a HUGE Zelda fan and would love to surprise him with somehting from that. And I would love to incorporate Disney somehow. All just ideas for now.

I walked down the aisle to Louis Armstrong’s “We have all the time in the world”, which is a lovely song but more importantly (to me) a theme song from a James Bond movie.  As I am a huge, nerdy James Bond fan.

We are playing Piano Guys (piano/cello) Lord of the Rings while guest are being seated before wedding.  We are also playing Lily Theme from Harry Potter sound track as well as the movie famous intro to cue start of ceremony.

Bridal pary and I are walking up the isle to piano guys cover of Christina Perry’s A Thousand Years (in Twilight wedding).

Lastly on our bride/groom exit of ceremony we are using an instrumental cover of Ballard Serenity (intro/theme song to Firefly tv show).

Since all our music is instrumental you would have to know the references or just, like yours, think its sweet music.

Awesome! I love Lindsey Stirling. And using geeky music in my wedding is, oddly, one of the things that’s most important to me.

Our wedding hasn’t happened yet, but I am planning to use music from Skyrim, Pride and Prejudice, and Battlestar Galacitca for our pre-ceremony music, and to work music from Battlestar Galactica (again), The Lord of the Rings, and The Princess Bride into our ceremony. (Right now I am torn between walking down the aisle to “Aniron” from The Fellowship of the Ring or “Storyook Love” from The Princess Bride. It’s such a dilemma.) And I want to use the Throne Room Medley from Star Wars as our recessional. Not sure if there’s a way to work music from Outlander in there, too, but if it’s possible, it will be done. (What can I say? Bear McCreary is just the best.)

ElvenHoney:  We love Skyrim and The Princess Bride.  Now I have more music to consider and figure out how/when to play it.

I forgot to add above we LOVE Lindsey Stirling and will be playing all her songs during the cocktail hour/while we photograph.  Our guest will be getting a lot of instrumental music that day LOL

One of the first wedding decisions we made was that our recessional would be the Game of Thrones theme ๐Ÿ˜€

We ended up hiring a string quartet for the ceremony and decided we would choose all songs from Film & Television, which ended up being mostly Disney.  So 20-30 minutes worth of pre-ceremony music, our grandparents and bridal party entered to Circle of Life, and Darling Husband entered to Kiss the Girl. The only really traditional music we had them play was Here Comes the Bride, and part of the reason I felt I needed that might be from hearing it as a kid when Gaston tries to marry Belle!

FoxFace:  My flower girl and ring bearer walked up to A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, from the OG Disney cartoon.

ucsadie:  I walked down the aisle to a beautiful instrumental version of Beauty and the Beast. We had a DJ, though, not live musicians.
