So, I told my fiance that he can choose the first dance song… but now I’m kind of nervous about it because he chose Say a Little Prayer by Aretha Franklin and I feel like that will be hard to dance to? I have a little experience dancing and he has none, and he’s not really interested in lessons or anything. He’s just like “it will be fine!!” But I thought he was going to pick a slow song that we could just sort of rock back and forth to; but the song he actually chose is faster and upbeat and I feel like the song is fine but I’m afraid we’re going to look dumb. What do you think?

You should put it on at home and dance together and see how you feel. It might work and it might not!

Totally agree with PP– put it on at home and test it out! The first time you dance to this song doesn’t have to be at your wedding, so have a few practice runs at home first to figure it out. I think that’s a great song.

We had an upbeat dance song for our first dance. We asked the DJ to invite everyone on the dance floor after a little bit because we weren’t comfortable swaying for three minutes. We swayed and everyone bounced around us. It was great 🙂 Fast songs can still be fun, try it out.
