I wouldn’t stress. You told your girls you don’t want to get drunk. Pace yourself. Sip slowly so you have a drink in your hand and people won’t buy you another. Encourage others to have as much as they want, but be firm that while you want to have fun, you don’t want to be drunk. And water. Lots of water. Lots and lots of water. That’s what I did with my girls and it worked great!

Eat a big meal before going out to help soak up the alcohol. And just nurse your drinks so it looks like you already have one. But just be upfront with your friends- they probably already know you’re a crap drunk!!

Be up-front that you don’t want to get wasted, order soda or virgin drinks, follow each alcoholic beverage with a glass of water (you can order sparkling with lime to look more festive), and drink slowly. You can also do as PP did and have a friend hide/toss/give away some of the shots. Bar patrons are always happy to receive free drinks!

I’ve just seen someone has resurrected this thread, but I’m still pasting this in case someone finds it useful 😉
Make sure you have a big meal before drinking.
Also drink milk before going out (this lines the stomach nicely)
Take bottled water in your bag. You can drink it in the restrooms, if you’re worried your friends will call you a party pooper when they see you with it.
Then, the one drink they get you, just sip it really slowly and always carry it around with you so it looks like you’re always topped up. You can say someone just got you one, if they ask if it’s the same one. Also carry it around because you don’t want someone dropping something in it !
As long as you stay hydrated with the water you bring, you’ll be fine and you won’t be dependent on their offers of booze.
Under no circumstance play their ‘drinking game.’
If they get annoying about your slow drinking, then another thing you could say is that you’re on medication and you can’t have more than one glass or it will react with the medicine.
This is way better than feeling awful the next day. You want to stay beautiful for your wedding so water is the way to go, not panda-eyed with a headache.. ugh
