- Wedding: July 2013
I ordered my dress in August 2012 – I was told it would be in by the end of December 2012. I thought that was perfect – I live in Newfoundland, and would be back in Ontario (where I ordered my dress) at Christmas time, I’d get to see it, and get my first fitting done.
Well, the dress didn’t come in by Christmas – I wasn’t too worried, because my wedding wasn’t until July, and I was planning on being back in Ontario in April.
The store assured me that my dress would be in by the end of March, and that was perfect, I made my appointment for my fitting ahead of time – great. The dress arrived JUST in time. Problem was, the dress was ALLLL wrong. I made another post about this. Basically ordered the dress and it came in with sooo many details different – different skirt, top, belt, flower, etc. Might as well have been a completly different dress. It would have been great to have at least had this happen at Christmas, but now I am not coming back before the wedding!
So the store called the designer and asked them to put a rush on the correct gown, and it’s supposed to be in at 5 pm on Monday. I leave Wednesday. I am panicking that it’s going to show up on Monday and still be wrong. What do I do then??
I need advice. I have NO plans to be back in Ontario before the wedding. What do I do if the dress is still wrong? Do I ask for my money back and rush order a new dress elsewhere or from a different designer? Try to find a sample dress to purchase? I would have to do this all on Tuesday before leaving Wednesday since there is no where to buy the kind of wedding dress I want in the part of Newfoundland that I live in.
