I just picked up my gown for my fall wedding…it’s Ivory silk Mikado trumpet. I can’t believe how plain I went…but I figured it was simple elegance I could live with 30 years from now in photos and have fun dressing up with a gorgeous veil.
What do you think of this dress? My fiace is traditional and I just hope it’s traditional enough as I didn’t go “A-line” traditional.
I tried on chunky pearl/rhinestone vintage neckaces but found them overpowering a little too bulky.
Jewelry – I’m either going to clip a single pearl/rhinestone broach (vintage cicra 40’s) right in the center with just simple stud pearl earrings OR a single strand of pearls and earrings. The ladies in the salon saw both looks and said either broach or necklace but not both.
Veil – I’m trying to find a 2-tier cathedral length veil with embroidery or pearl edging and it’s hard to find one that has the rich detail I’m looking for. Any suggestions, please!
Lace bolero – to resemble Grace Kelly’s high neckline in ivory lace – what do you think? I was sort of hoping there could be some way of adding lace to soften and romantize my gown (although the veil would do the trick too…)
Any thoughts for this nervous (but excited) bride to be is appreciated! (Is 2nd guessing your dress NORMAL? after you take it home??) I do admit I miss the shopping and gown trials quite a bit. ;0)
