So my “little” brother (he’s 24) is a laborer and has been out of work for about 6 months. He applied within the union and took a job in the city I live in, about 4 hours from his house. He will be staying with Darling Husband and I while he is working. The amount of time he will be here is unknown. It depends on how long his contracted job lasts, and once it’s up, if he doesn’t get a contract near his house he’ll look for another here.
I’m slightly worried about this. He’s a nice kid and very respectful, but we’re not especially close. I don’t want to strain any relationships ( Darling Husband and I or bro and I) with the three of us living in a small space. Darling Husband and I live in a 2-3 bedroom/1 bath townhouse. And we have cats and a giant dog.
I work 60 hour weeks and my brother will go home every weekend to take care of maintenance at his own home, so we will have some space. But, does anyone have any suggestions on how to comfortably coexist with others who aren’t your SO in a very tiny space?! Looking for any tips or advice you have!
