- Wedding: May 2013
So I booked my wedding site for May 2013 in January 2012. Besides the location and appearance, what really drew me to it was the prices: Prices for the meals and appetizers included all taxes and fees, and the prices are actually lower then tons of other places in my area that DO NOT included taxes and fees. Our contract includes a clause that says meal prices wont go up more than $2 pp for 2013. I was a very happy bride 🙂
This past spring the venue was purchased and is now under new management. The new owner sounded very surprised when when we asked him to confirm that the prices include taxes and fees, but then proceeded to say that he would “work with us.”
I am kind of freaking out! If all of a sudden taxes and fees are not included in these prices, several thousands of dollars will be added that we were not planning to spend, making the prices not so enticing after all As I said, the pricing aspect was a major reason I picked the venue and if I knew taxes were no longer going to be included, I would have picked another venue from my list.
He seems like a nice guy and I am hoping “work with us” means honoring the contract we already signed. Is he under an obligation to to honor the contract?
