I more concerned with the fact that they are randomly giving you two images every few weeks.   You should get all of your final images in one fell swoop. Seems like an amatuer working around the scedule of their day job, and trying to apease you by giving you the images as they have time to complete them. I would definitely be weary of them as your wedding photog, if this is how they operate their business.

I agree with atomic. The whole reason vendors give away things is to get future business, or that is what I would logically think. Even if something is free they should still be professional and follow all their standard practices as if you were a paying customer. Just be leary of a deal that sounds to good to be true.

@atomic:  Well, I don’t think it’s fair to say that just because they might have a day job they’re working around, they’re an amateur… our photogs have been doing weddings for years and only just recently were able to afford to quit their jobs and do photography full time.

But I do think it’s strange that they’re giving you only a couple at a time, since generally you would get the edited group all at once and then the disc. I’ve heard so many Bee horror stories about not getting the photos back for so long, that honestly, I would not book this photographer. I wouldn’t risk it.

ETA: Oh, and I don’t think it matters that it was free to you… a true professional should BE professional all the time. They didn’t have to do the contest but they did, so it’s their responsibility to give you the same quality work as anyone else.

@pinkgreenandyellow:  Yes, this should be a red flag. Make sure you actually like the images before hiring them for your wedding, and even then, if you have the room in your budget for a more experienced professional, it is WELL worth the extra expense for more experience, higher quality, and better customer service.
