As I have mentioned before I am having a dress altered into a 50’s style swing dress. I found an all lace dress at a consignment shop about 2 months ago. It was too small when I bought it. The end of June I went to a lady, that a friend recommended, to see how much for alterations.
I was 3″ from being able to zip the back up at the top. I have worked my butt off since the beginning of July and have lost 15 lbs.
Today I had an appointment with the alteration lady and I still have about 1 1/2 inches to lose around the top to zip all the way. Since there is so much to do to make this dress into a 50’s style swing dress we decided to let it out the 1 1/2″ and I will go back in 2 weeks to try it on again and get measured up for length.
I am really proud of myself for losing what I have so far and intend to keep on doing what I have been doing. A small part of me is bummed that it didnt fit perfectly.
Now I am nervous that altering it to fit my “now body” will back fire and by October I will have to pay to get it brought back in… I thought about doing a corset back, but I love the buttons up the back of it the way it is.
Was anyone else nervous about the possible outcome of their alterations?
