I love your new set!  Sometimes you just get bitten by the bug. Lol. That happened for me with yellow and rose gold jewelry.  One day I suddenly loved it but I wouldn’t look at it for years.

Our choice is clothes change as we grow… why wouldn’t jewelry be included in that?

It’s gorgeous! Enjoy it!

Love it, very pretty!

For me, I’m torn between sentiment and a constant desire for “adventure”, and something new. I found the solution was to keep what mattered to pass down someday, and to go ahead and branch out. Now I have a small collection of sets from solitaires to gemstones and antiques. I wear whatever I’m feeling in my soul at the moment.

Your new set is beautiful!

I have had several different rings over the 15 year course of my marriage lol I’m not a sentimental person so it never bothered me to upgrade. I actually have so many moissanite sets I wear and switch out daily that I never even wear my diamond anymore 🤷🏼‍♀️ My husband has also upgraded a couple times.

Enjoy your new set it looks so beautiful on your hand….which btw doesn’t look old!!!!

@babymia2017, I’m sentimental and truly still love the style of my engagement ring so I’ve kept my original set (I wear it about half the time) and have been adding to my fine jewelry collection as time goes. I now have two additional diamond engagement ring looking rings and two additional bands that I switch in and out.

OP, I love your new ring! Do you know the specs? 🙂

Both are beautiful. I love your new solitaire, though. Congratulations!

Lovely ring. It’s still not an ‘upgrade’, it’s a replacement . I never understood the term either , still don’t really.  To me the original ring is THE ring, though l have no objections to having others, different or bigger or whatever to wear in its place either some or most of the time.

I always see purchasing a new piece of jewelry as investing in potential pieces to be handed off to future granddaughters! When we lost grandmothers on each side of the family, all the girls immediately requested a certain piece.

Since Covid and working from home, I don’t even WEAR my ring most days. Now, I switch between my engagement ring, one of my grandmother’s ring, and an estate sale ring that is VERY close to my “dream” style.

I had a very detailed ring that my husband had custom made for me it had alot of small diamonds everywhere. I loved it. But when the opportunity came around for another upgrade,  I went with a solitaire and I love the simplicity of it. So I basically did exactly what you did 😊.
