I think a week before is fine, but do you have time to do a practice run before that? Sometimes the skin can be sensitive afterwards, especially if it’s not something you are used to.

@itsashleyday:  A week should be fine! Mine took 2-3 days for the redness and sensitive skin to fade, but a week in was when I was happiest. Perfectly smooth and no trace of irritation.

I would do at least one more before the wedding. You could have an allergic reaction and you don’t want to deal with that the week before the wedding. Plus the 2nd one is much better/easier than the first.

A week is perfect. My skin is really sensitive and I’m a little red for 1-2 days after. Not embarrassingly so but it all calms down after that.

I know you didn’t ask but wanted to mention it in case you didn’t know since this is your first. Make sure there is at least 1/4 inch of growth otherwise they won’t be able to do an effective wax. If you already knew…nevermind. 🙂

definitely do a trial run prior to the wedding.  this will give you a good idea as to how long the redness lasts (if any).

i usually have the hard was on my bikini area and they do the cloth strips elsewhere (legs, etc).

you may want to take an advil about 30 minutes before your appointment.  it does help with the pain.

If you have a spa that does sugaring I would highly suggest it! I have been getting sugared for years now and it is a loteasier on the skin, no hot wax! I’m usually only red the day of… And I have very sensitive fair skin.

Good luck 😉

I would definitely encourage you to spend the money on a trial run a few months before the wedding. It would be such a downer to have a fire in your loins on the wedding day if you unexpectedly have a reaction after trying it for the first time right before the wedding. Maybe if you sign up for Groupon you can get a good deal on a wax?

I would go 2 days prior. Also, make sure the hair is long enough. Call wherever you ahve your appointment and ask them specifically what you should do to prep.
