Hi, weddingbees. The other day, I posted a question here, which is I should wash my hands with e-ring or not. Almost everyone told me I should never ever take off my e-ring because I may loose it on a sink at bathroom. I agree with that, and I realized I almost lost my e-ring because of that. However, I came up with this question, which is if I cannot take off my e-ring in public, like at school or work place, do I use hand lotion with my ring on? Do you guys take off your e-ring when you put lotion on your hands? I am so curious.

This is probably unsanitary, but I put my ring between my lips (not in my mouth) when I put on lotion at my desk because I dont want to drop it or set it somewhere and get distracted.

My coworker almost lost her rings too by the sink. I never take it off except at my desk to put lotion on. You must put it back on immediately!
I also move the ring to dry under there after washing.

I will only take my ring off at my desk, put lotion on and then put the ring back on. If i’m out and about, I use only a teeny bit of lotion just on my palms (usualyl where its dry).
It’s fine to use lotion on your ring though, it will just look dirty. Its not going to damage it (at least normal hand lotion won’t!). I clean mine every morning, so I just dont like it looking dirty lol.

It depends–if I’m at my desk I have a safe spot to put my ring. If I’m not at my desk I know I can clean the lotion off later more easily than I can find a lost ring. I’ve been known to just put hand lotion on my fingertips if my cuticles are feeling dry, thus avoiding my ring. It’s just not worth the risk to take it/them off.

I got myself this cute little handy dandy ring dish to set on my work desk specifically so I could set my rings in it when I apply lotion. I make sure to put them on right away after I’m done 🙂

Lotion is not going to hurt your ring. I often use lotion with my ring on. Lotion may get caked up in the crevaces but it is better than loosing it. If you are at your desk, i would get a designated ring dish or holder to place it in each time.
I have several ring dishes around the house where the ring could get lost easily. I place one in each bathroom, kitchen sink, bed side table and on the sofa. Eventhough I rarely take off my ring, these are places where it is likely to be taken off for one reason or another and easily lost.
Thing is if your ring is not on your finger, there is a risk that it could be lost. Use common sense and weigh the pros and cons of removing your ring in any given situation.

I hate washing my hand with my rings on, though I’m getting used to it by now. I also hate lotion, so I don” use it unless desperate. However, when I’m not wearing them, I just stick them in my pocket. It’s temporary and as a woman it’s tight enough that the rings won’t fall out. Actually my husband does the same, though I trust him less. He’s only lost it once and that was very shortly after getting married, so not in the habit yet.

I lotion around my ring if that makes sense? I just avoid getting to near it.

I can generally survive 8 hours without using lotion. Indeed, I hate lotion in general; it makes my hands feel tacky, greasy and overall dirty. But even if I were forced to use lotion, I still wouldn’t take my ring off at work or elsewhere in public.

I try to avoid applying lotion when I’m not at home, but if I do I put my rings either into my pocket (if I have one and it’s tight) or into a zippered pocket in my handbag. This way, if I don’t put them back on immediately for whatever reason, I know they’re going to be somewhere on me.

I just put them on my computer where I can see them and put the lotion on. I’ve never actually put much thought into it really. But I definitely never take it off to wash my hands, I like them to get cleaned too since they go everywhere my hands go.

I never use lotion. I don’t like the feel of it on my hands. However, if I did use lotion, I would not remove my rings in public to put lotion on. The risk of loosing them would not be worth it to me.

I have a tiny leather yurt that houses my ring if I ever take it off for any reason at work.
If you’re on the run just put the lotion on with your ring on. You can always clean it when you get home. 🙂
