I don’t take them off to do anything. I have an emerald cut, and it gets dirty easily. So I give it a good scrub about once a week. If you take them off every time you wash your hands, you WILL lose them. Just a matter of time.

I see a lot of people saying they clean their e-rings after they get dirty. My ring is white gold and has a solitaire diamond. Could you please teach me how to clean my e-ring? I have never cleaned my ring by myself…

it is, but it’s so uncomfortable otherwise. My skin will literally start peeling. Stupid NE weather – I can’t wait for spring!

I only take my ring off occasionally to clean underneath the setting, beyond that I never remove it, I keep a soft toothbrush with my makeup tools and I clean it right on my finger useing liquid hand soap as part of my morning routine to remove and lotion or anything that may have gotten stuck on it the day before.

I just put lotion on with the ring on. It means that at least once a day I have to give my e-ring a scrub with an old toothbrush to clean the oil and dirt out. I keep a toothbrush beside my bathroom sink for this.
I have made my e-ring pretty tight as I don’t like it to spin. Getting it off every time I wash my hands would be a lot of work.

I carefully lotion around my rings.

the only place in public i take it off would be work to put on lotion and I set it next to my keyboard.

I just leave my ring on while lotioning 🙂

If I’m at work, I will only take my rings off at my desk to put lotion on and then put my rings back on immediately after. If I’m out and about and have to use lotion, I put my rings in my purse. That way, if I forget to put them back on after for whatever reason, they are still safe and with me. I forgot them once at my nail salon when I took them off and put them in the dish beside me and went home without them after, so now I never leave them anywhere except in my purse!

you should’ve done another poll (to catch everything). As many of us said on the other thread, I never take my ring off unless I pretty much have to. I take it off to clean it. I don’t take it off to put on lotion, sleep, do my hair, work out, wash dishes or do chores (I just wear gloves), or anything else.
And I have an emerald (and will soon also have a sapphire; my previous ering was a diamond). My Fiance understands that emeralds aren’t ideal for 24/7 daily wear because they split/fracture more easily or are often kinda fractured already and held together by resin or something. But he wanted to propose w a family heirloom emerald and is okay with the emerald getting beat up or needing to be replaced as long as it severely lowers chances of the ring ever being lost.

I take my ring off only at my desk at work to put lotion on. I place my ring in front of me on my phone, put on the lotion and then the ring goes right back on.

I do take them off to put lotion on but only at my desk and I put my rings somewhere like on my keyboard where I won’t forget about them. If I don’t have a safe place to put them, I carefully put lotion on with my rings on, doing my best not to get lotion on the ring.

Thank you guys again. I should have had poll for this thread too! 😀

Another vote for putting my ring between my lips when I lotion my hands. It sounds pretty gross, but I’d rather do something gross than lose an expensive ring!
