Well, the title says it all. I’ve been struggling with dress regret for the past few months.
I got this dress about a month after I got engaged. I made myself try on about 15 other dresses, but always came back to this one.
In a way, I do still love it, but there’s one thing really bugging me about it and I’m hoping I can get some input!
I don’t like the criss-crossing tulle on top. I know that is part of what makes this the BELLE dress – but the more I look at it, the more I hate it.
Any suggestions on what I can do to make me fall in love with this dress again would be appreciated! I will be going in for my first fitting/alterations consultation in May!

If you’re sure that you don’t like it, I think it’d be pretty easy for a seamstress to get rid of the extra tulle. I can see how you might not want it to make things look bulky. I think it will still look good with just the flat layers of tulle.

I agree – I think you can probably just take off the crisscrossing tulle. It is a beautiful dress, with or without the tulle.

I completely agree that the criss-crossing tulle is not a good thing. A qualified seamstress should be able to remove it with no problem. It will be a gorgeous gown without those extra layers. Good luck – pleae post another pic once you are happy it.

Thanks ladies! I’m really hoping this is the case. I wish I had a picture of me in the dress, but I find it bunches up right at the hip where it attaches to the bodice and looks ridiculous.
I’m crossing my fingers that it will end up looking more clean-lined, like this:
