I guess I don’t understand why your jeweler can’t stamp it as authentic? Sorry.

Is there any way to talk to a manager? I would talk to him/her, explain the situations, and say that it needs to be taken care of. There has to be someone you can call about this issue. I wouldn’t give up just yet. I know it’s been tough, but its a custom ring, so it is pretty special. I am just having a tough time withthe fact that its been 5 times and you haven’t gotten a manager or someone who has made it a priority.

I agree with GelaMac, your ring should be a source of happiness, not a reminder of suckiness.  Will they give it back though?

wow.  i think at this point i would find another ring.  pp are right, there is too much negativity with this ring.  you need happy memories.

All jewelers should have in place, coverage for the valuable items left in their care, custody and control for alteration, cleaning or repair….if your appraisal reveals that the ring you’ve been given is not in fact the ring you were sold, the insurance carrier would be able to reimburse you for the purchase price.  Jewelers Block coverage and the dovetailing bailees form that covers the property of others is quite expensive and difficult to obtain due to the valuable nature of the items in their shops, threatening to file a claim with their carrier might just be the “motivation” this designer needs.

other than the stamp of authenticity, did the jewler say if everything else was in order? If that is all that is wrong (this time) and the gemologist can verify that everything is as it should be, then I would keep the ring. But if anything further happens to it, I would say be done with it and get your money back!

18k stamps can be done by any goldsmith.  just have them do an acid test and stamp it for you.  maybe they buffered the ring so much they lost the stamp

I would be very very upset. I would demand a refund for all of my hardship, and if I wasn’t given it immediately, I would make it clear that I was going to do all sorts of bad PR for them.
