I do feel I’m not going into this blind, this time though. I’ll get a quote in, but probably won’t place an order for a few weeks so that I can drop some more weight… and also because I know Jasmines are really busy at the moment, and I have plenty of time this time around. It’s going to be far more relaxed, and they can take months over it, if they want to.
I really think this is the right decision. I’ll spend more than what I wanted on dresses but hey… we live and learn… plus I’ll still spend less than I would have done on one dress in the shops. Besides, I can afford it now!
I threw caution to the wind today and asked for a quote on the new dress, plus some bridesmaid’s dresses. I have quite a small budget for the bridesmaids, but I’m hoping that with the bulk discounts they do, plus my new budget, I can afford them. We will just see. Not placing an order for a few weeks in any case… I need to lose more weight, get some more money, and wait until Jasmines are less swamped!
I may still force them to have it, to be honest. There were complaints about it from one Bridesmaid or Best Man though, so now I have suggested this one, but with a longer skirt:
I just don’t like it as much, though. I thought the other one was so much more classic. Still, I suppose the second one will flatter my super duper thin bridesmaid more though. I don’t think that first one would suit super skinny girls as much.
I just LOVE the first dress with sleeves, it’s so gorgeous. If it doesn’t suit you anymore, and you’re totally committed to getting a different dress, try putting it up for sale online and hopefully if you can sell it you won’t feel as bad about getting a new one. If you don’t get any bites in a couple weeks, then maybe stick with it and have it altered. You should feel gorgeous on your wedding day and if you feel meh, it wil reflect in your mood on the big day. You should be confidant! That said, you’re wearing a perfect-for-you dress for the reception so that is a bonus you shouldn’t overlook!
UPDATE: new pics of me in the original dress. Look… it fits!
With potential belt… the brooch here could always be changed.
The back. Excuse the wet hair.
The front, bustled, and showing an alternative way to wear the sash. I need a new underskirt in this pic. Pls excuse!
The back, bustled and bowed.
… I now really like the dress, seeing as it fits. Still love the JA I tried on before though, and now it’s a real dilemma. I think I look better in the JA still, but do I look XYZ £££ better… enough for me to spend lots of cash on a new dress? Ugh. So difficult. Like I said, the JA is objectively far nicer on… but is it nice enough?
Very pretty! I really like the sash in the last two pictures.
Oh my! I ADORE the back of the dress! Don’t order the replica of the Justin Alexander. As much as you might love it, this dress is BEAUTIFUL.
Secondly, if we’re picking ways to wear the sash, I prefer the first over the second. Though, I could possibly be convinced to the second if it was the same width as it is in the first style.
Truthfully though, you look stunning.
That JA would be a hard one to get a good replica of. The lace they will use will almost certainly be a much lower quality, and that’s what’s pretty about it. The dress you have looks a lot better now, and while I would continue exploring sash options, I think you should either stick with it or get the actual JA from a used site or a salon.
Both dresses are beautiful. I really like the Alexander dress though but I voted for you to stop looking lol. You can’t have dress regret and fall in love with a different dress if you don’t know what else is out there. Like they say ignorance is bliss.
