Hey there, hope you don’t mind me joining you! We’ve just booked our venue and so I’m going into planning overdrive! Unfortunately as we don’t have a lot of money we’re making do with a room that doesn’t have a particularly nice colour scheme. I’d already chosen my colours, originally I wanted fuschia and lime but I’m going to have to change it. I thought about sticking with a dark blue with little bits of a bright deep pink but my mum keeps saying I should stick to neutral colours (which I’m not a fan of!) Here’s a picture;

I think that room is lovely! I also think that your idea of doing dark blue and bright pink will work perfectly in there.

I agree. bright pink will work perfectly well with the current color scheme of the room. That will give some life to the whole setup. going with neutrals may be a little drab, at least, in my opinion. 🙂

Thank you!! You’ve put my mind at rest! I know the room isn’t bad but I’d got this whole idea in my head about how it would look and then all of a sudden I needed to change it! I’m glad someone else thinks that neutral would be drab, now I’ve got a definite colour I’m setting to work on my table plan and invitation designs!

You could totally do blue and deep pink. It’s one of my favorite combos. Here’s an inspiration board I found that you might like.

@babylou: That’s just the kind of thing I was thinking of! I think I’ve ended up preferring my ‘make do’ colour scheme rather than my original one! Thanks for the help.

I like your new one better 🙂
I’d do white table cloths (and save on upcharges for color!) and use color everywhere else. Navy and fuschia go together really well, and the green from leafs on flowers will give you your lime fix 🙂
