@SpartyOn: Ok, I’m not from Northern michigan, but I grew up in SE Michigan. So, I’m not help, but I am soo excited to see how your wedding turns out. Northern Michigan is flippin’ beautiful! I considered dragging my family up for a destination “reception/anniversary party” but in the end stayed in Detroit since we’ll already be in from out of town anyway.

@SpartyOn: I’m from around Muskegon, MI but travel north for family. If you get the chance, get over to Mackinac Island. It is amazing, that is where my FH and I are going for our honeymoon.

I am from Traverse City, MI and was married in Traverse City. Here are a few of our northern Michigan vendors that I absolutel loved!!

Photographer: Tina Becker at Becker Photographic http://www.beckerphotographic.com
We loved her work, her prices and she was so pleasant with all of our guests and us. She travels up to 5 hours outside of the Traverse area for free so she would definitely travel to your location with no extra cost.

We had our cake done by All Cakes All Occasions: http://www.allcakesalloccasions.com/

Hopefully that helps!
Good luck with your planning….any wedding up here is beautiful!!

I was once a northern michigan bride, but now i’m a northern michigan wedding photographer. lol.

Anyway, yeah, it can be a pain finding everything when you’re far away.

Ok, so a wedding on Lake Charlevoix? Are you having it near Charlevoix or Boyne City? (opposite sides of the lake)

Regardless, here’s some good info:

If at all possible – go to or send someone else to this event…

Castle Farms Grand Bridal Expo
Charlevoix, MI
(231) 237-0884

Date of Show: October 28, 2012
10:00am – 4:00pm

There will be TONS of vendors! I won’t be there, but I suppose that’s ok. ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you can’t make it to that show, that’s alright – there’s still plenty of info here…

First up is UP NORTH BRIDE

And I saw quite a few vendors in the Charlevoix / Boyne City areas!

Up North Bride has a great list of Cake bakeries – http://upnorthbride.com/directory/things.html#cake

Food & Drink vendors –

Things you can rent for your wedding –

Florists –

Here’s a website page that’s ALL ABOUT a wedding on Lake Charlevoix –

Anyway, hope that’s helpful for someone. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am already married and had my wedding in East Lansing but I just wanted to pop in and say I am so envious of the fact that you’re having your wedding in Northern Michigan!! I wanted to have a small ceremony up north and everyone was so rude about it that I was just like eff it, whatever, I’ll have it in EL instead of TC or Leland. Good luck with your planning!

I am another person who is of no help but is very jealous of your Northern Michigan wedding! It is just SO pretty there!

I am from Grand Rapids, so if you ever need advice about places there, let me know ๐Ÿ™‚ Welcome to the Bee!
