Hi all I’m new here and wanted to introduce myself and share something that happened this evening and get some feedback. So some background…SO and I have been together for 2 years this month. We both have kids and are a little older so our timeline is moving pretty quickly but I am definitely pushing the marriage issue he is more relaxed about things than me. I have told him that I need to be engaged for a year (give or take) because of the logistics with the kids. So since he hasn’t proposed yet I have pretty much accepted that we won’t be marrying in 2013. Well tonight he just told a friend that he plans to pour the foundation for the addition to his house this fall so he can start building in the spring. Well he is building the addition so we can move in. So is he thinking we can be married next summer? Does this mean he might propose soon? So confused/nervous/excited!!

@impatientlywaiting20: Hello! I have a question lol. Are you and your kids not moving in untill your engaged/married? Just curious lol. And it seems like if that is the case( if you wont move in until engaged/married) that maybe he will propose soon! Waiting without knowing is crazy lol. It makes me nuts!

Just wanted to say Hi and Welcome.
All your SO plans sound very exciting indeed. Building an extension is so cool. I would love that.

@FutureMrs.browneyes: Correct-no move until we are married. Although it wouldn’t be a huge deal if say my lease ended and we lived together for a month before the wedding or something like that. The waiting makes me nuts too and not always so fun to be around lol! So I feel like a crazy spoiled brat but I’m kind of angry that he is completely ignoring my need to be engaged for a year. I know this is one of those things I should just deal with because I will be getting what I want (marriage to an amazing man that I lovevery much) but does it really ALL have to be his way?!?! And I can’t see why he would build the addition next summer and then have it sit empty in fall/winter/spring of 2013/2014. Because of the kids being in school I won’t move them during the school year. I guess it is a typical case of guys just not getting how much time it takes to do things! Thanks for your response btw
@Soon2BD-CBee: Thanks for the welcome! Yes SO has big exciting plans but I’m a bit of a doubter, he always takes so much longer than I would like to get things done…I suppose I just have to take comfort in knowing that what I am waiting for is so worth it!

@Kat_Kit2000: Thanks for the welcome! I’m thrilled to find a community of women who get how challenging playing the waiting game can be!
