- Wedding: June 2011
Hello Fellow Bees~
I was recently linked to this amazing site through a good girlfriend of mine, who suggested this site since it helped her immensely with her wedding planning. (Thanks Steph! <3) I decided it would be a good place to begin documenting my wedding ideas, inspirations and general progress for my wedding plans. i have yet to purchase an organizer but am quickly dreading that i will need to soon, but until then.. Wedding Bee blogging it is!
I’m not really the type of girl who grew up dreaming of her wedding… Seriously. I had no intentions of getting married at all! I only dreamt of my future careers and travels and left no room for becoming a misty-eyed wanna-be bride, that is until i met my fiance, aka ‘Mr Amazing’. i’ll dub him ‘Mr Amazing’ for now.. it could very possibly change to a better name, if found, but this name suits him perfectly for now.
So the story is… Mr. Amazing and i have known each other since i was the ripe age of 13. We lived in the same area but lost touch only to be reconnected less than a year ago (November 2010). I shamelessly chased the guy for a lil while and insisted we ‘hang out’. (i know! Super shameless~! imma lady i should’ve made him chase me.. yada yada ) He played it cool and put it off for as long as he could resist, but eventually gave in to my feminine charms.. or maybe lack of?..Ha. When we were finally re-united it was BLISS. Countless dinners; Weekend adventures; Camping Trips galore; Music bonding; Lotsa Road Trips; Shows; Late night talks; Endless laughs; etc. Basically the best times i could ever hope for.
So fastforward to August 15th 2010, Cancun Mexico… The last night we are in Mexico we are in the room getting ready for a nice final dinner. Mr. Amazing is acting unusually jumpy and i notice but don’t think anything of it and continue to take my time getting ready. After a few failed attempts in rushing me along, Mr. Amazing could wait no longer and after stating so, he proposes and i immediately accept (After screaming and jumping up and down.. The ring is uh-mazing, for lack of a better word and i promise the actual proposal was probaby better in person then on paper now that im reading it over… hehe)
Now, i am slowly learning the scary world of Wedding Planning and am trying my best to stay relaxed. Ha. I know it will only get crazy from here on out, so i am choosing to stay level headed as long as i can. Any suggestions on keeping calm?
So for my early stages of wedding planning, i have learned that i should think of color schemes and themes (when i first heard this i was so blown away! I had no idea there was so much planning involved , sighz). Well, I am happy to say i have settled on the color schemes and have a rough idea of themes at the very least. Yay me!
The Colors: Black White Yellow (Chosen based on Mr. Amazing’s favorite football team, Go STEELERS!)

Which leads me to the highlight of my week… Our 1st Wedding Purchase!!!
I have found the perfect pair of wedding shoes on ETSY. (I believe i will be spending a lot of my time combing through the ETSY wedding stuff! Such creative ideas and products) So here they are… My beloved wedding shoes:
The fact that they are the perfect Gold/Yellow that i was looking for confirmed the purchase and decision. Since we are leaning towards a beach wedding (Hawaii, i HOPE! *Crossing fingers! Deciding this weekend, Eek!) i figured this would be a good option versus the standard slippers and flip flops i see for beach weddings. So there you have it kiddos. My colors and shoes. Exciting right?! Now what to decide for MOH/bridesmaids and Flower gals… Hmmm? Suggestions welcome!
What Colors would you choose for your wedding?
