khudg:  we eloped last year, and it was f*cking amazing! No regrets at all with the elopement.  However, I do regret having a celebration dinner with family/close friends when we returned lol. Too much drama even for a small dinner cruise with 40 people, if we were to do it all over again we wouldn’t change a thing about the wedding but would definitely forego the celebration.

I regret not eloping, would have been so much easier and less expensive. If eloping is best for you then go for it!

khudg:  I’m “planned eloping” next Friday! I don’t think I’ll regret it at all. I’m not a planner and didn’t want to spend a lot of money. We’d rather buy a house. I’m sure I’ll post an update once we do it! ๐Ÿ™‚ Let your practical side win!

Getting married next month and I wish we eloped. That’s what we originally wanted to do, but his family was insistant that we have a wedding. It’s such a headache with guest list, money and all the little details!

We didn’t quite elope, but we had a very small Destination Wedding for immediate family only and didn’t tell anyone else until afterwards. (Although neither set of parents seemed to understand that it was a secret despite being told….).

We have zero regrets! It was perfect for us. Aside from some inevitable Mother-In-Law drama, totally stress free!! There is some middle ground between eloping and having a huge wedding.

We eloped and it was great!!! Wouldn’t change our day for anything. You can still make it super special.
