I’ve been a long time lurker here on the WeddingBee and I was wondering if y’all could help me out. Despite my young age, computer lingo tends to go straight over my head (you have no idea how long it took me to understand what LOL meant!!!) and I’ve noticed it being used quite frequently on here.
So fo the sake of time and sanity, I was wondering if someone could tell me what all the abbreviations you guys use stand for… I mean, some of them I get (MOH = maid of honour; Future Mother-In-Law = future mother in law?) but for the most part it just goes straight over my head 🙁
Thanks in advance for your help, and I look forward to being a part of the WeddingBee community! 🙂
P.S. Please no snarkiness – it may seem really obvious or whatever, but I truly do not understand a lot of them.

Oh my gosh, i know what you mean, there are so many! I think it’s pretty goofy personally, but it’s good to understand so you know what the hell they’re talking about. Um, the ones I can think of off hand are:
Fiance – fiance
FH – future husband
Darling Husband – dear husband
SO – significant other
Father-In-Law, Future Mother-In-Law, Future Father-In-Law – future inlaws, mother/father in law
Mother-In-Law, Father-In-Law – mother/father in law
FWIW – for what it’s worth
TTC – trying to conceive
Can’t think of anything else… can you? Welcome! 🙂
ETA: Oh that’s another one. I assumed it meant “edited to add:” but I actually have no idea. But yeah, ETA – the link above is the way to go.

Welcome to the ‘Bee! A wonderful place where Bridesmaid or Best Man means “bridesmaid” or “best man” and STD is “save the date” … SO much more appealing than the real world!

@MrsRidley: I had that problem when I first came too. Glad you found your answers. In honor of you, I’m going to ask for support to add a sticky of all this confusing lingo for newbees to easily find!
