You can see them here: http://www.thedailygopher.com/2010/12/13/1873428/new-big-ten-logo-division-names
Anyway, I’m a Nebraska fan so I was excited to see it. But it seems like a lot of people are ticked. I kind of like it! Its simple, neutral, has tradition, and shows no favoritism to any one coach or team. I was wondering if anybody else has an opinion about it and if they could tell me why they feel that way? Big Ten fans and random commentators welcome!!

Oh, shoot, link doesn’t work for me because I’m at work. You mind telling me what they changed
Penn State alum here! Go Penn State!
ETA: Oh, I found another link that is not blocked by my company.
Here’s the new logo and it’s division changes.
Oh, I also have to add that I’m also getting my master’s at Michigan State. But, ehh, yeah I will always be blue and white! My boss says I should start sporting the green and white. Uhh, nah!

Go Blue! MIchigan grad here… But Fiance would know more about the logo than me 🙂

Well, its now powder blue, and says B1G TEN because the 1 and G make a “10”. Nebraska’s division is called the Legends and Penn State’s is called the Leaders.

I just think the new divisions names (Leaders & Legends) is sooooo cheesy. I do like the fact that it doesn’t favor certain teams though. I know they were considering naming them after specific coaches or mascots, which just isn’t fair.
The logo doesn’t bother me except for the fact that there are 12 teams in the Big TEN.

Yeh, bad link… Here’s a pic:

@littlecat Michigan grad here too! 😀

Well, I have no stake at all in this, but I find it comical. It sounds like something high school divisions would do, and the logo is extremely sub-par for a collegiate conference with so much history and fervor around it.
ETA: I agree it would have been completely unfair to name the divisions after coaches or mascots. Not to mention there’s a lot more to college conferences than football, so the coaches would have been doubly unfair.

It’s certainly neutral. It’s kind of boring. And Soonerpsych is right, there’s so much history that is not reflected in the logo.

@ttn133: You are a Penn State alum? That’s where my parents went to school!

Yeah, we’re leaders. . . um yeah.

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy: Yup, class of ’06. Tell them I said hello. 🙂

The logo is alright (kind of boring but whatever) but the division names are TERRIBLE! Why not something like Great Plains and Great Lakes divisons or really anything other than Legends and Leaders?!?!
I do find it kind of funny that the Big 10 now has 12 teams! 🙂

I hate it. My husband went to Ohio State (GO BUCKS!) so naturally Im a fan of the conference. But the logo and new division names are cheesy. I hate how the “IG” is supposed to look like a 10. I didnt see that until I read it.
