@babypearls:  I am a southern baptist christian, however my boyfriend is Catholic so fortunatley whenever I attend mass with him he can help me along. But if you are wanting to become Catholic your church should have a class called RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. This class will teach you everything you need to know, and will also allow you to take the host (eucharist) when you have your first communion, and in the laws of Catholism have your sins forgiven once you confess them to a priest.

The class will teach you everything that you need to know. Ask your priest about it. I am sure he can direct you to where you need to be. 🙂

Good for you! It can be difficult to change faiths or even churches as an adult. Do not worry about the hyms and traditions just take time. Most churches have RCIA if you really want to go through the process, or you can ask the priest at the church or any faith formation classes or young adult groups so you can learn more.  I am Catholic and my SO is non denominational Christian. We attend both services with each other and it is a learning experience for both of us, so I totally get it! Best of luck! 🙂 Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions and I will do what I can to help clarify or direct you to some good websites for learning all the hoopla about Catholicism, lol.
