My SO and I bought an appartement, we are fixing it before moving into it. The thing is i dunno what to do with the second bedroom. I’m not pregnant but we’ll start TTC as soon as we move to our new home, so i’m clue less : should we already paint the room to be baby friendly or to make it more like a guestroom?

I would leave it as is unless the color of the walls is yucky at the present. I would decorate it as a spare room or guest room until you get pregnant…

I’d go with the guest room. You never know how long it will take you to conceive so having a room already prepped and ready for a baby that you’re still trying to make may not be the best idea.

thanks for your inputs 🙂
we have to do something because it’s really … lets say … yeeeeek
So we can maybe paint it in white .

I would paint it a nice neutral color and use it as your storage room/guest room in the meantime – then when the time comes you don’t necessairly have to repaint you could just use decorative wall art/pictures/etc. to make it into a childs room. We have our second bedroom set up as a guest room however, I didn’t put a ton of work or money into it as we hope it will one day be a nursery as well.

Young House Love’s first guest room/office was amazing.
the walls were neutral but they jazzed it up a bit with coloured accessories.
it would be perfect for a guest room, and easily adapted into a nursery i think.

We have two spare rooms and painted the one we will make into a nursery a color similar to what @lookingglass showed. We had no intentions to TTC at the time, but knew that this color would be fine if we decided not to repaint the room at a later date, or if we did repaint, it’s not difficult to paint over.
This color is actually in the majority of our house, as it’s neutral, goes with everything and we won’t have to redo it when it comes time to move.

I’d make it a guestroom or maybe a guestroom/office. I wouldn’t want a nursery staring me in the face every day if we had difficulties TTC.

thank you all for your ideas, and you are all true we don’t know how easy or difficult will TTC be. so painting it in a neutral colour is a good idea and we could add some children stickers (we can find nice one on etsy)
@lookingglass: i really love those picture
