So i was just researching this yesterday. I really want to stay in over water bungalos but i dont want to have to take a 22 hour flight to get there. So what i found out that while they did announce plans to build these type of rooms in the carribean due to travelers preferences but the reason why you see the over water bangalos in bora bora, fuji, and madives has something to do with the ocean floor being much more stable. The floor in the carribean moves alot more and there for its not ideal to build on. They article i read said they were having issues with long term stability. And judgig by the pics you posted they are all computered rendered so im not sure if these bungalos are a real thing or not yet.

FYI they usually run 600+ a night

beautyofdreams:  looks amazing!!! I would bet those would be close or higher than 8K for the week through sandals, lol. even if it is carribean. For that price I would just go to Tahiti!!!

gingerkitty:  And with Sandals, that would likely be $600+ per night and per person since that’s how they generally price their rooms.

berchiena:  I dont know but no way in hell I would spend over 8K to go to carribean even in a fancy bungalow (assuming OP in in US) , thats for sure haha. You can do carribean at a nice resort for half the price. My point was if your talking serious cash I would just go the really nice exotic place lol.

My husband and I just had our honeymoon at SRC in April-May and they had NOT started building those bungalows over the water yet, they were finishing building their new suites in the garden area. There was nothing even remotly ready for the bungalows, don’t know where they would even put them yet.

if you do want to go to a sandals though I would definitely recommend SRC! It’s beautiful and it’s the resort that they train all the new sandals employees so the service is superb!!

I saw these advertised quite a while ago (like, almost a year ago?)… I’m disapointed to hear that they haven’t even started construction yet! I figure they’ll be wayyy out of my price range for a week, but I wonder if they’d allow us to rent the bungalow for 1 night, and rent the regular rooms for the rest of the time.
