I had to wait a very long 10 hours because he hadn’t talked to my parents yet the morning it came in!

He proposed pretty much as soon as they left after dinner! (He let me do the dishes first πŸ˜› )

I knew my Fiance had the ring. I went crazy waiting even though I only waited 4 days After he got it. And yes I was still surprised When he proposed. I thought the wait would be longer. So excited for you! Be sure to share pics when it happens.

My SO picked out a family hierloom January of ’13, and my clock is still ticking currently at 17 months-ish? And earliest possible proposal would be October, so 21 months at the earliest.

To be fair, he only alluded to picking out the ring early on and didn’t outright say/confirm he had it till this past winter. So by that measure we’re at 5-6ish months waiting and will end *hopefully* around 9/10 months.

Our situation is a little different though. I’d say anywhere from a few hours to about six months is typical for a majority of men, it just depends on th guy’s personality.

My ring is sitting in the closet 3 feet from me and I haven’t seen it yet.  The goofball had the nerve to tell me he had it, but not let me see it!  I am going crazy!  Anyday now…hopefully.

My Fiance kept it one week before he proposed πŸ™‚ He couldn’t wait, especially after we’d been dating six years!

Last spring, I knew my Fiance and sister went shopping, wasn’t sure if there was a purchase. But he let slip that June that he had bought THE ring. Then I was waiting and kept guessing how he would do it (apparently I guessed his plan). Then July came around, 6am on a Friday morning before work, and the waterworks still happened. Even though you know the ring is waiting for you, its still a surprise how/when your SO proposes. It think in the end I learned that it would happen eventually, and to just enjoy the anticipation.

amberback:  What do they say, the man may be the head of the house but the woman is the neck and can turn the head any way she wants, if you want a longer engagement i say make it happen πŸ™‚

Finances, buying a house and body image are a big reason as to why I will want a long engagement as well, i can completely relate!

Unfortunately, family won’t be helping us when we get married, it’s not as common here in Australia I’ve found, but then again, for about 60 guests we are looking at $6k for a reception at a really nice venue including most things as well as a DJ.

In regards to your plateau, try drinking 250ml of warm water with half a lemon of juice in it in the morning before any food and for breakfast try overnight oats or a green smoothie, i have a few recipes if you like πŸ™‚ That usually helps me kick start my weightloss if i want to shred.
