Tachetetreasures:  i went through this when I was getting married. I was at a job that was literally draining the life out of me. I called my employment agent and told her that I needed to find a new job. Luckily within a month I got a job 2 months before my wedding and I was very up front and explained that I was getting married and I had a 2 week honeymoon booked, my manager who interviewed me sakd it was not a problem at all.

I was very grateful and thankful bc I desperately needed this  i have been there almost 2 years and I have zero complaints.

I started 1 month ago and will be taking 1 week off at the end of this month.  I also have 1 day off in July.  I’m on probation for 6 months and don’t have PTO until then, but my employer agreed to the time off no problem.

Common theme here: negotiate the time off BEFORE accepting the job offer. If they won’t allow it, don’t take the job. Don’t quit your old job until you find a new one that will allow the time off.
